The Biggest Lie I Was Ever Told When I Was Pregnant

When I was pregnant with the minion, I was assured by many, many women that I was lucky I hadn't seemed to gain too much with my pregnancy and that most if not all of that weight would be lost while I breastfed. What a load of CRAP!!! I am now 2 years later and have only recently lost 20 pounds with a lot of effort. I didn't lose a single pound or half pound for that matter while breastfeeding; though I do have to admit I didn't gain any either.  So to all those people who told me that the weight would probably just melt off, don't go around telling other emotionally vulnerable women that it'll be a piece of cake. It was depressing that for a year and a half I couldn't seem to lose a single stinking pound. I ate less, tried to eat better things (which is hard when you barely have money to buy groceries much less healthy groceries), and when I was finally getting more than an hour and a half of sleep at a time, I was able to start doing some exercising. But it was hard because I would still fall asleep when I put my daughter down for a nap, which would waste what precious little time I had to be able to work out undisturbed. I lost 5 pounds there, which I was ecstatic about at the time but then no matter how many crunches and squats I was able to mange to do before passing out next to my daughter, I couldn't seem to lose more. Then fast forward about 3 months and we are now living with my parents for the time being and I'm very thankful for that. Plus, I get the added bonus of having someone to keep reminding me to go work out everyday because my mom was also wanting to get back into a routine. So here I am now, rejoicing for the 20 pounds lost and hoping I can keep it up for the next 40 or so. *fingers crossed*
