Party At...... Applebee's?!?!?!

I'm not sure how many of you may know this but apparently during the week (as far as I know) at Applebee's there is karaoke night. I was shocked when my husband and I walked into Applebee's last night to use a gift card for our third anniversary and it was packed! And there was a DJ! What?! I guess it's cool to go do that at a restaurant late at night. Anyways, it's pretty cool that there is a $1 dessert on the menu at Applebee's and it was totally worth it; completely made my night. Little slice of brownie, small scoop of ice cream, a little drizzle of chocolate sauce: perfect! I'm linking a cookbook that may have the recipe not sure yet. Not too bad for a third anniversary, especially since this is our first anniversary that we weren't completely sleep deprived for. Last year we went to the drive in for a movie and the hubs and I nearly fell asleep before the end of the first movie! ( and before anyone gets judgey we are poor and he had never had the pleasure of experiencing a drive in movie )  The year before that we welcomed home our little bundle of joy 5 days before it, so it was more of a blur than anything.

Hey Guys!

I know it's been about a year, but it has been one of those years where you just don't seem to have time to catch your breath. Anyways, new things going on, we moved, the Minion turned 2 two days ago, and we are getting plugged in to a new church. Awesome.

Just trying to think back on everything is almost mind boggling for me. I can't believe it's been a whole year! Some ups some downs, but nothing that we couldn't bounce back from. Also, I re-picked up crochet and am learning to knit. Ha! I've gone possibly a bit overboard with the crochet. I've made quite a few beanies so far this year and one of them in particular was especially awesome. I'll link the Pinterest pin that inspired me. Crochet Knight's Helmet was awesome. I didn't have a pattern so I kinda winged it and my brother was super excited to receive it for his birthday not too long ago. (btw he's 22, that's how awesome it turned out)

So other than perfecting my newest hobby and trying to find new jobs for the family that's my update summarized. I plan to get back in to posting more often now that things have for the most part settled down on my end.

Online Classes and 12 Month Olds Don't Mix

So I was just able to finish two online classes I was taking. Unfortunately, my Minion thought that it was unnecessary for me to do any of the schoolwork. It was like she has a little radar that told her just when I had logged into my online class. She would have a complete and utter meltdown... EVERY TIME. Even if she had just eaten and napped and was happily playing by herself. *sigh* SO thankful, to have those classes out of my life even if only for a couple of months. Hopefully, by next semester, Minion won't mind so much.

Minion's Birthday!

So it was the minion's birthday a couple weeks back and I've only just now got the chance to write about it. we threw her a little party and had only one other infant there. To  be honest, I'm glad we only had one other infant there... it was crazy but fun. Minion completely enjoyed herself. She got some new toys and had some cake, and didn't spill a single crumb on the floor. She was definitely wearing her cake though. And  even though I made the cake and it didn't come out the way I wanted it to, it was good and no one complained. :)

No More Nursing!!!

FINALLY!!!! We are done nursing, I made it to my goal of 12 months... barely. It was rough in the end there because my minion has nine teeth already! I know, crazy right?! But now we have her transitioned to bottles with cow's milk and it has been such a relief. Plus, she has been slowly but surely, waking up fewer times at night. She has been averaging about only one time to eat and maybe one other time to whine while rolling around for a new comfortable position. This means I've been slowly getting more hours of sleep at night also since I'm usually passed out by 1:30 am which is great since it used to be 3 or 4 am before I'd fall asleep while also waking every 2 hours to feed the minion. :) So, for all you out there struggling with night time feedings/ wakefulness, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Moving... sigh

Moving with an infant is... for lack of a better word, frustrating. Although, no where near as frustrating as having to move when you are 9 months pregnant and bigger than a house. I'm able to somewhat pack, but that's only really when the baby is sleeping because she thinks it is her mission in life to pull everything she can get her little hands on out of the box I just put them in. Then, as much as I want to help my husband move everything, I'm on baby patrol. Gotta make sure she isn't underfoot while boxes and furniture is being moved and carried. On the other hand, moving to a new apartment complex is exciting. It's a better atmosphere and a better management company.

Fevers and Babies

Ah, sickness... my nemesis. I, up until this last year, usually managed to catch a cold EVERY time one was going around, plus an extra one for good measure. Last year was a banner year in which I think I had one maybe two colds (cue happy dance!!!). Now this weekend was terrible. It started off with me dealing with a miserable migraine all afternoon/early evening on Friday, then Saturday was a lazy-ish day of apartment hunting and dealing with an ear ache. Then Sunday rolls around and Minion baby is burning up, of course since we had a rough night I thought at fist that she was just warm from crawling around everywhere and being really silly. But then I decided to check her temperature after she went down for a nap super easily, and low and behold she's sick too. BLAH. And she woke up and just wanted to cuddle and not be put down for any reason. But after sleeping all day today her fever is down and she's seemingly much better.... maybe it was teething and not a cold.... who knows? she won't let me check.
